I made it to the Bay Area with no problems. I drove 5 1/2 hours, listened to The Da Vinci Code audio book on my up. I know, I know. I'm so out of it, I haven't even read the darn book. To be honest, I'm not much of a book reader. I wish I was, because I think people who read regularly are very intelligent. It's a natural intelligence as well, not something forced and not something learned. Sadly, I've never been much of a reader eversince I was a child.
In any case, I've been up North for 4 days now. It's been nice, spending time with my sister and brother-in-law. I went to Lisa's, my very good friend, graduation yesterday. I must admit, I was a bit envious that she was graduating from such a prestigious law school. Nevertheless, I am very proud of her. Last Friday, I went to a job interview, and I'm waiting to hear back from them. I don't really have much passion about the position, but at this point, I believe whatever happens is meant to happen.
So for now, I'm taking it as it comes. I'm spending time with friends that I haven't seen much over the year, helping plan a baby shower. This baby is going to be the first baby out of my group of friends, so needless to say, she's going to be spoiled rotten.
The weather has been cool and rainy up North. It's a much appreciated change from the hot Southern California sun. I'm happier up here. I'm hoping to stay all summer, much to the disappointment of my grandma and mom. At the same time, it's a good feeling knowing that I'm missed.
Everything's so calm. It's unfamiliar and scary at the same time. Even without a summer job and the obvious things I should be worried about, I feel a greater sense of peace than I've felt in a long time.
