Back aches

Well, I can't think of any finals period that was so difficult as this one. Maybe I say that every semester, but really, this time it sucks ass. My body aches from sitting all day for the past month. I probably gained about 5 pounds just from the lack of movement. It's so sad.

I have one more final left, and it's the hardest. It's on Thursday from 6-9pm! Who gives finals that late!? Ah you gotta hand it to my shitty school. Oh and did I mention my graduation ceremony will be at 8pm in the evening? Yes, an obscene hour, especially for my very old grandparents. Well, my school's done it again - just when I thought my school couldn't get any more crappier or embarrassing, boy does it prove me wrong. It's like sticking to me!

I've managed to get through two 25-page papers and three finals. What a semester. I must say though, it did fly by. I think it's truly been the most "relaxing" semester of them all. After I moved out, I hardly fought with anyone. A and I did have a couple incidents, but we would talk it out after a day, and then everything would be back to normal. So I've been lucky this semester. It's nice to have Myra at school, and I love being a godmommy to little Lucie. She's just the cutest thing.

I got a hint the other day from Myra (who obviously can't keep her mouth shut) that Danny may be looking into engagement rings. First of all, it was a shocker that Danny and Myra talk behind my back, but hey, as long as it's for me, I don't mind. Second, it's kind of nice being able to finally imagine a future after law school! I'm SO glad law school is only three years, b/c I honestly wouldn't be able to handle another year of this shit!

I can't wait to get out of orange county. This place is in some dire need of change and life. It is as bad as what you see on TV. Nice cars, kids with $1000 purses, everyone's rich or go broke pretending, and it's the most homogeneous place ever. I'm really looking forward to getting back to some diversity. And oh lord, if I hear another republican blond that knows nothing about politics, I may just drop to the floor.

What have I learned in law school? I've learned more about the ignorance of people than anything else. A couple weeks ago in my gender law class, some girl compared traditional African clothing to a "cow suit." Niiiiice. These are the future lawyers of America. So you can't blame me for being a bit pessimistic about the field in general. These past three years have taught me to be more afraid about lawyers than I was before. I'm hoping it's just the people at my highly esteemed institution.
