a new week

It's a new week, which means I get a fresh start to everything. I'm feeling positive about this week. I'm going to be productive and efficient. I'm gonna apply to just about everything that crosses my path.

I watched Evan Almighty last week, and there was a quote that Morgan Freeman says which really resonated with me. (By the way, the man never ages. He looks the same in every movie I've seen him in!) So the quote goes:

"Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?"

I thought about it and realized, if I pray for a job, I need to create my own opportunities to actually get a job. I'm praying to pass the Bar exam, but I sure as heck can't go back to the opportunity part...nor do I ever want to. So now, I'm understanding that I really did take full advantage of the opportunity I had to try my hardest. There's nothing more than can be done.

Bar results come out next Friday. As weird as it seems, I think I'm more optimistic than I was a while back.
