I have never been so excited about a new president. Watching Obama make his speech last night literally took my breath away. The man is simply amazing and so very inspiring.
No doubt, things have been getting ugly lately. I feel like so many of us had something personal invested in this election, and now we can be hopeful that things will change for the better.
On a bitter note, Prop 8 banning same-sex marriage looks like it will pass. There was a time when it was against the law for Blacks and Whites to marry. I wonder when gays will have their Loving v. Virginia. It's clear that California isn't yet ready to view gay people as people, and that's perhaps the saddest realization out of this.
